In an attempt to help deal with the issue of homophobic bullying in schools, the lesbian, gay and bisexual charity Stonewall has this week sent out to all secondary schools in England and Wales an interactive DVD designed to confront homophobia in schools (Stonewall Scotland is sending them out in March). Recent research conducted by YouGov for Stonewall showed the magnitude of the problem of homophobia in schools:
Nine in ten teachers said their pupils experience homophobic bullying. But nine in ten teachers have never received any training on how to prevent and respond to homophobic bullying.
